On September 17, 2016, “Benevolent Heart and Warm Embrace”, the mid-autumn charity event organized by SMXMU’s EMBA Fuzhou alumni association of the class of 2015 , was successfully held at the comprehensive gymnasium of Haixia Olympic Sports Center in Fuzhou city. Before the event, Hou Bin, an EMBA student of SMXMU, who lighted the torch of 2008 Beijing Paralympic Game and who had won three Paralympic championships, lead the running around the Center which was joined by 200 SMXMU’s alumni and their families. Through the running, they wanted to convey the concepts of sports, happiness, self-improvement, friendship, love and a healthy way of living. What’s more important, they wanted to encourage the participants and the whole society to join the public service team, to help the disabled children to have a better life.
The event started with uplifting drumbeats and a magnificent drum dance. The audiences were absolutely absorbed by the brilliant performances of the event, which was not only a visual but also cultural feast. After President Guo Hongzhi and Yang Yufen, the monitor of the EMBA class of 2015, all the classmates make donations and the total number went to 300,000 Yuan. With the great financial and spiritual support of SMXMU’s professors and leaders, Fuzhou Alumni Association, Outdoors Association and all of XMU’s kind-hearted alumni, the event made great achievements.
“This is just a beginning. Through small acts, we hope to bring attention and actual support to the disabled and help them ‘stand up’ and have a better life.” By organizing charity events and activities, SMXMU’s EMBA class of 2015 showed the society their positive energy and spirits of love and caring as responsible entrepreneurs.
