At 19:00 p.m., on November 21, the launching ceremony of XMU’s 13rd “People BASE Cup” Mock Job Interview Contest was successfully held at J2-201. Distinguished guests invited included Ms. He Jiali, the party secretary of Xiamen People BASE Co, Ltd., Ms. Huang Chaomin, the chairman of Xiamen Labor Union, Mr. Wu Chaofei, the schoolmaster of XinDongFang Xiamen, Ms. Wu Dongdong, the HR director of XinDongFang Xiamen, Ms. Lin Xi, the corporate culture manager of XinDongFang Xiamen, Ms. Li Yan, the assistant corporate culture director of XinDongFang Xiamen, Ms. Liu Liming, the recruitment consultant of DELL Xiamen’s HR Department, Ms. Ren Yanqing, from Xiamen University Student Career and Entrepreneurship Center, Mr. Li Feng, the deputy party secretary of SMXMU, and Mr. Wu Guangxi, the deputy secretary of SMXMU’s Youth League Committee. Ms. Yang Nanyan, from SMU’s Career Development Center, was the hostess of the ceremony.
Qiu Naiqin, the president of Xiamen University Student Career and Entrepreneurship Association, a 2014 undergraduate student of SMXMU’s Management Science Department, made a brief introduction of the Contest’s preparation work, time frame, rules and awards. The final of the Contest primarily contained three parts: Self-Introduction, Ability Demonstration and Career Advices. The winners could get decent money awards and great internship opportunities. Ms. He Jiali gave a speech afterwards. In the speech, she introduced the 16-year-long entrepreneurial history of Xiamen People BASE Co, Ltd., and went on to state that People BASE will continue to provide firm support to the “People BASE Cup” Mock Job Interview Contest which had 13 years of history and had been growing in magnitude and importance.
At the end of the ceremony, Mr. Li Feng and Ms. Huang Chaomin signed the Contest Sponsorship Agreement on behalf of the two parties, which drew a perfect conclusion to the whole ceremony.
After the ceremony, Mr. Wu Chaofei delivered a keynote lecture on university students’ career planning, “From A Green Hand to The Youngest Schoolmaster of XinDongFang”. Mr. Wu shared with the audiences his internship experiences at XinDongFang since he was a freshman in the university and gave the students three advices: choosing your career based on interest; practicing how to make critical decisions independently and finding out your career’s significance to yourself. In the Q&A section, Mr. Wu had a good interaction with the students. The lecture ended in a big round of applause.
