On the morning of March 7th, Prof. Yu Lisheng, the vice dean of SMXMU, Ms. Wang Shen, the director of SMXMU’s Career Development Center, and Ms. Yang Nanyan, the secretary of CDC paid a visit to Zhongxing Telecommunication Equipment Corporation (ZTE) in Shenzhen. ZET hold a warm and friendly meeting with SMXMU’s delegation, important participants included: Mr. Wei Zaisheng, the executive vice president of ZTE, Mr. Zhou Huidong, the director of ZTE’s financial supervision and HR department, Mr. Cao Wei, the director of ZTE’s securities department, Mr. XieJiepeng, the vice director of ZTE’s department of business administration, Ms. Deng Jianping, the CFO of ZTE, and Mr. Xiong Bo, the director of ZTE’s finance and employment department.
During the meeting, Mr. Zhou Huidong first expressed warm welcome to Prof. Yu and the delegation and then went on to point out that the signing ceremony of the internship base was a great opportunity for further exchanges and cooperation between the two sides. XMU hadfostered many elites, which attractedZTE to participate in the on-campus job fairs for several years. The two sides hadbeen maintaining a close and friendly relationship. ZTE had been devoting itself to establish a global financial sharing platform, which needed a great amount of talents withpractical innovation ability. ZTE hoped that through concerted efforts and more in-depth cooperation, more and more outstandingXMU students couldbeinterested in ZTE and be ready to join ZTE.
Subsequently, Prof. Yustated that he was grateful for ZTE’s invitation and was especially encouraged by the fact that many executives of ZTE wereXMU’s alumni. He was happy to know that XMU students could be accepted and valued in such a well-known company. SMXMUattached great importance to the meetingthis time, and hoped that the two sides could take it as an opportunity to develop further cooperation in the form of internship so that students could have a chance to know and understand ZTE. "Mutual understanding is always a must for a couple before going into a marriage" Prof. Yu made a funny metaphor. The short term and summer internship would give the students enough time to have a good knowledge of a company and its business.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Wei Zaisheng set a higher goal of co-training talents in the school-enterprise cooperation. He said, XMU students were excellent and facing many career choices. Internship was a smart way for them to get in touch with a company. ZTE needed fresh blood to achieve further development, especially the talents with operational analysis and innovation ability. He hoped that by establishing internship bases and deepen school-enterprise exchanges and cooperation, there would be more vibrant and high-quality talents to join ZTE.
After the meeting, Prof. Yu and Mr. Zhou co-held the signing and unveiling ceremony of the internship base. Formally, ZTE became SMXMU’s 22rd student employment and internship base.
